Mark W. Smith, RCDD, previously worked with IBM and Tandy Corp in the early development of their computer products during the 1980’s.  Mark was a founder of GEI, Global Electronics International who developed and marketed structured cabling products to support the IBM Cabling System.  GEI was sold in 1990 and Mark soon started his first manufacturer’s representative agency which evolved into VDI.  Vertical Datacom is a culmination of years of working with engineers and designing OEM products and consulting on major OSP and Structured Cabling projects.  Mark has been engineering, buying, and selling world class Metal Parts and Assemblies both Stamped and Machined, Connectors, Fiber Optics, Copper Cabling, Plastics, Power Supplies, Network Active Products, Mainframe, LAN/WAN Cabling and Infrastructure Design since 1982.  Vertical Datacom also specializes in CCTV Security, Access Control, Voice/Data Networking, Training, Test and Measurement and specialty OEM Copper and Fiber Cable and Assemblies, Metal, Connectivity and Security Assemblies.   Likewise we have strength with our partners which include OEM Customers, Retail Customers, Distributors, Installation Contractors Consultants, Architects, General Contractors, Engineers, Builders, and Residential Home Network Integrators in bringing projects to success – on or ahead of budget.
